Studio Recording
Studio recording and production take advantage of optimized acoustics, high-end equipment, expert musicians and superior editing to create a more polished sound.
Pre-production is usually done in Guy's project studio using both Pro Tools and Logic Pro X while final production recordings are done either in a large-format commercial studio using Pro Tools HD or Guy’s project studio using a PreSonus StudioLive 64s console interfaced with Pro Tools Studio.
Guy has a diverse selection of new and vintage front-end gear such as dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones from Neumann, Royer, AEA, Sennheiser, AKG, Shure, and Rhode; SSL and Neve 500 Series channel strips and Universal Audio leveling amps.
In addition, with over 30 years of recording experience, Guy works with a number of highly-talented session players skilled in many different genres.
Mixing is done primarily using Pro Tools with a PreSonus StudioLive 64s digital console. More plug-ins than can be listed, favorites include: Slate Digital Virtual Mix Rack dynamics and eq processing, Slate Digital Verbsuite Classics effect processing, Waves SSL channel strips, and Isotope Music Production Suite eqs, maximizers, and meters. Guy will organize, balance, and reference each mix based on your preference. In addtion, analog mixing using a 72 channel large-format Neve/AMEK 9098i console is available as desired.
